DSU women’s basketball got back in the win column twice this weekend, picking up a 93-82 win in Bismarck State on Friday, and a 90-50 win over Dickinson State on Saturday. 

On Friday, Dakota State jumped out to a 24-15 lead after one quarter over the Mystics. Tabor Teel finished with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Caitlin Dyer added 16 points, while Cierra Watkins and Mackenzi Simmons each scored 11. 

On Saturday, the Trojans took a 37-34 lead at halftime over Dickinson State, then exploded for 34 points in the 3rd quarter on their way to a 40-point win. Dakota State held the Blue Hawks to just 16 points in the 2nd half. 

Teel again led all scores with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Angelina Chapple poured in a career high 16 points off the bench. 

The No. 4 ranked Trojans are now 14-3 this season, and 9-2 in the Frontier Conference. 

The DSU men also picked up a pair of victories in North Dakota over the weekend. The Trojans topped Bismarck State 71-55, and Dickinson State 78-74.

On Friday, DSU shot 50-percent from the field, and led by as many as 26 points in the second half on their way to a win over the Mystics. Aiden Jenson led the way with 13 points. Nathan Ojukwu added 12, and Tyler Beckwith 11 in the win. 

On Saturday, the Trojans got career nights from Ojukwu and Lukas Morgan to hold off the Blue Hawks. Dakota State took a 10 point lead with five minutes remaining, then survived a Dickinson State rally in the closing seconds to escape with the win. 

Ojukwu was 6-of-11 from three-point range, as he scored 37 points with 11 rebounds. Morgan scored 26 off the bench in the win. 

The Trojan men are now 13-3, with an 8-3 record in the Frontier. 

Both DSU teams will be back at home this weekend, hosting Montana Tech on Friday, and Montana Western on Saturday.
