On February 27th, 2026, KJAM AM & FM were officially bought by Christensen Broadcast Group. On March 9th, the call letters were authorized and formally changed by the FCC to KJAM 1390 AM & KMZM 103.1 FM. Christensen Broadcast Group is grateful for the opportunity to strengthen locally focused broadcasting within this community. Our organization remains committed to delivering reliable, community-centered programming that reflects the values and voices of the region. We look forward to honoring each station’s legacy while supporting their continued growth and service.

History:

Amazing Madison celebrated its 65th anniversary of AM 1390 in 2024! “Reaching People Is Our Business”.  Amazing Madison serves Madison and the Eastern South Dakota Region. Weather, news, sports, agricultural programs, plus Hot Country Music on FM 103.1 (Madison’s Amazing Country) and Classic Hits of the ’70’s and ’80’s on KJAM AM 1390 (Madison’s Best) with an emphasis on local and area information. Amazing Madison is the ONLY radio station in Lake County South Dakota. Our coverage includes McCook County, Miner County, Moody County, Kingsbury County and Brookings County, SD.

Our local coverage includes school board meetings, city and county commission meetings, school closings due to bad weather, Madison Chamber of Commerce events, area church programs and local charity fundraising activities. Amazing Madison is proud to offer two distinct radio stations formatted for a variety of entertainment and information 24 hours a day.
