Rapid City Christian hit 7 three-pointers in the 2nd half on Saturday, and hung on for a 49-47 win over the Madison Bulldogs in the Dak XII/NEC Conference Clash.

The Comets scored the first 9 points of the game, only to see Madison score the next 10. The lead changed hands multiple times the rest of the game, with neither team leading by more than 7 points the rest of the way.

The Bulldogs took a 1 point lead into the 4th, but back-to-back three’s gave the Comets the lead again. They would hit their free throws in the final minute to take a 5 point lead. The Bulldogs hit a three with seconds left, but had no timeouts to stop the clock.

Shane Veenhof finished with a game high 17 points for the Bulldogs. Nolan Nielsen had a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards. Peyton Glenn had 13 for Rapid City Christian.

The Comets improved to 9-6, while Madison fell to 7-5.

Madison will host Deubrook in a girls and boys doubleheader on Tuesday.
