Dakota State University Softball opens their season this weekend at the American State Bank Sports Complex Softball Classic in Sioux Center Iowa. 

The first games of the year are also the first for new DSU head coach Hunter Lambdin. A California native, he is following in his fathers footsteps, beginning a career as a baseball coach, before switching to softball.

DSU softball plays four games this weekend and next weekend in Sioux Center. They have a trip to Branson Missouri in early March, and are scheduled to host their first conference games in Madison on March 14.
