The high school baseball season is underway in South Dakota. On a beautiful Sunday, the Madison High School team opened the year with a pair of ten-run wins. The Bulldogs shutout Redfield 10-0, and then beat Tri-Valley 12-2.

Braylon Oftedal and Oakley Mees combined on for a 5 innings, 4 hit shutout of the Redfield Muskrats. Oftedal struck out 5 over 4 innings.

Ryland Johnson and JD Prorok each drove in 3 runs for the Bulldogs. Tregg McGillivary added 2 hits and a run scored.

Madison briefly trialed against the Mustangs, and Tri-Valley scored a run in the top of the 1st. But, the Bulldogs scored a pair in the bottom of the inning, then broke it open with a 5-run 3rd inning.

Oftedal and Cale Johnson each had 2 RBI in the win. Prorok struck out 8 batters over 4 innings of work.

The 2-0 Bulldogs will host CE/Flandreau on Tuesday.
