The Madison Dairy Queen Broncos erased an early six-run deficit with an explosive offensive performance, defeating the Flandreau Blue Teal 18-9 in a wild game that featured seven home runs.

Flandreau jumped out quickly, taking a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run homer by Kolby Peters. The Blue Teal extended the advantage to 6-0 in the third when Peters blasted a grand slam.

Madison finally got on the board in the bottom of the third as Heith Williams launched a solo home run to left field, but Flandreau answered with another run in the fifth to make it 7-1.

The Broncos then erupted.

Dawson Bakker opened the bottom of the fifth with a solo homer before Ty Jorgenson followed with another solo shot. Logan Allbee capped the inning with a two-run homer as Madison tied the game at 7-7.

Flandreau briefly regained the lead at 8-7 in the sixth, but Madison responded with its biggest inning of the night. Jordan Pedersen crushed a three-run homer to put the Broncos back in front, and Bakker added another three-run blast—his second home run of the game—as Madison scored seven runs in the inning to build a 14-8 advantage.

Madison continued to pull away. A wild pitch scored Ty Jorgenson in the seventh before the Broncos plated three more runs in the eighth. Heith Williams tripled, Chris Burke drove in a run with a single, and Dawson Bakker added an RBI double to make it 18-9.

Williams hit for the cycle, while Bakker finished with two homers, a double, and six RBIs. Pedersen added a three-run homer, Allbee belted a two-run shot, Jorgenson hit a solo homer, and Williams contributed a solo home run and a triple.

The Broncos are now 8-6 in the Cornbelt League, and tied for 5th in the standings.

Madison heads to Dell Rapids to take on the Mudcats tonight. The Blue Teal will take on the Cardinals on Friday night.
