The Madison boys golf team competed in the West Central Early Bird Invitational, with the Bulldogs getting a strong individual performance from Braylon Oftedal.

Oftedal finished 12th overall, shooting a 3-over-par 75. His 75 put him just one stroke out of the top 10 and tied him with several golfers, including West Central’s Marcus Peterson and Chase Mebius.

As a team, Madison finished 12th with a score of 335.

Dakota Valley won the team title, shooting a combined 302, with Vermillion finishing second at 303. West Central and Roncalli tied for third at 305.

Ben Akin of Elk Point-Jefferson took individual honors with an impressive 6-under 66. Parkston’s Landon Weber and Vermillion’s Jack Johnson tied for second at 71.

The Madison Boys Golf team will be back in action today as they host the Madison Invitational at the Madison Country Club.
