The 63rd Annual Steam Threshing Jamboree gets underway today at Historic Prairie Village, just west of Madison.

The four-day event celebrates the area’s agricultural and pioneer heritage.

This year’s Jamboree features the Ford and Fordson Collectors Association National Annual Show, bringing antique tractors and agricultural equipment to Prairie Village.

Visitors can see daily parades, steam and horse-powered threshing, machinery and sawmill demonstrations, tractor pulls, an antique car show and a large flea market. There will also be train and carousel rides, food vendors, exhibits and free musical entertainment in the Lawrence Welk Opera House.

The Flea Market opens at noon today, and then at 8am Friday and Saturday, and 9am on Sunday. Train rides start Friday at 10am.

The Jamboree also includes demonstrations of traditional skills such as weaving, quilting, spinning and grain grinding.

Admission is 15 dollars for adults Thursday, Friday and Sunday, and 20 dollars on Saturday. Children ages 6 through 12 are 5 dollars, while children five and under are admitted free.

The 63rd Annual Steam Threshing Jamboree continues through Sunday at Prairie Village.
