The Madison boys golf team placed seventh Wednesday at the Dakota Valley Invitational.

The host Panthers won the team title at eight-over par, with Vermillion finishing second and West Central taking third.

Leading the way for Madison was Braylon Oftedahl, who shot a three-over-par 73 to finish seventh individually. Oftedahl was just three strokes behind the individual champion, Dakota Valley’s Atti Slater.

Cannon Husley carded an 81 to finish 27th for the Bulldogs. Kirby Offerdahl shot an 84, while Ben Wiemann finished with an 85.

Senior Braylon Oftedahl wrapped up a strong week with another top-10 finish. He also placed in the top 15 Monday at the Dell Rapids Invitational at Rocky Run Golf Course, shooting a 78.

Madison will return to action Tuesday at the Sioux Falls Christian Invitational at Spring Creek Golf Course.

The Bulldogs will then return home next Thursday for their first dual of the season, hosting Tri-Valley at Madison Country Club.
