The Madison Bulldogs overcame a lightning delay on Friday night, and shutout Belle Fourche 50-0 on Blankley Field.
Madison scored in each of the first three quarters while holding Belle Fourche scoreless throughout the game.
Henry Veenhof got the Bulldogs on the board in the first quarter with a 24-yard touchdown run.
Madison added a safety early in the second quarter before Veenhof connected with Kaysen Gust on a 21-yard touchdown pass.
The Bulldogs then scored on special teams. Ethan Sims returned a Belle Fourche punt 62 yards for a touchdown.
Veenhof added another touchdown in the 2nd, finding Joey Christensen for a 63-yard score, to put the Bulldogs up 30-0 at halftime.
Madison continued the offensive attack in the third quarter. Jade Wilkens scored on a 13-yard run, and Veenhof connected with Gust again, this time for a 70-yard touchdown.
Malachi Ouverson added a 15-yard touchdown run to cap the scoring, and ended the game early on a 50-0 mercy rule.
Veenhof finished with 95 yards rushing and 233 yards passing, completing seven of nine attempts with three touchdowns.
Gust led the Bulldogs with 91 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Luke Johnson added 73 yards on three receptions.
Madison’s defense held Belle Fourche to just 94 total yards, including only 18 passing yards.
Brody Finck intercepted two passes for Madison, while Sawyer Hegg led the Bulldogs with eight total tackles and a sack.
