Janinne Reverts, age 77 of Madison, died Thursday, October 1, 2026 at the Madison Regional Health System. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at the Ellsworth Funeral Home, with a Prayer service at 11:00. Private burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Little Rock, IA. 

Janinne was born April 28, 1949, in Madison, South Dakota, to George and Loretta Johnson. She grew up in Madison and attended Madison schools.

On June 17, 1972, Janinne was united in marriage to Delmer Reverts. The couple lived in Sioux Falls and Luverne, Minnesota, before returning to Madison. Delmer preceded her in death in 2004.

Throughout her working years, Janinne held a variety of jobs, including working at Mom’s Cafe, Doug’s Cafe, Wenk Produce, Casey’s General Store, Arctic Cat and Head Start.

Janinne had a caring heart and was always aware of the needs of others. She enjoyed rummage sales and cooking, but most of all, she enjoyed taking care of her family. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, even to a stranger. Janinne loved her community of Madison and genuinely cared for the people around her. Her family was especially important to her, and she treasured the time she spent caring for and being with them.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Bill Reverts of Madison, Daryl (Kim) Reverts of Madison and Christina (Troy) Olson of Sioux Falls; four grandchildren, Caden, Spencer, Jace and Brody Reverts, all of Madison; and her siblings, Larry (Sharon) Johnson, Janice Persing, Linda Rosewalt and Helen Graham.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmer Reverts; her parents, George and Loretta Johnson; and siblings, Duane Johnson, John (Janice) Johnson, Phyllis (Larry) Fetters, Debbie Valenta, Gordon Johnson and LeRue Johnson.
