After discussions started in early summer of last year, plans are now being finalized to consolidate Lake and Miner county 911 services. Both counties agreed last year to have Lake county take over 911 operations for Miner. 

Tuesday, the Lake county commissioners gave approval for 911 director April Denholm to pursue a grant to upgrade the equipment for the 911 systems. 

Denholm said that if approved, the county should be able to purchase and receive the new equipment, and get reimbursed from the state, before the end of this coming summer. 

Once Lake county is ready, Miner will turn all its 911 services over to Lake county, and pay Lake county for the service. Denholm said that takeover should happen sometime in September.
