Lake County is a step closer to absorbing the 911 operations on Miner County. The county on Tuesday approved final agreements with the city of Madison and Miner County. Lake county should be ready to take over the operations by sometime in September of this year.

In other business Tuesday, commissioners approved a pair of elderly tax freezes that were submitted after last year’s April 1st deadline. They also approved a rental agreement with SDSU Extension that makes a room for Extension staff available at the Lake County 4-H office.

Finally, county commissioners approved a budget supplement, totalling just over $24,600 from the opioid settlement fund, to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff will then reimburse Madison Regional Health System for the purchase of an overdose related device.
