The Moody County Sheriff’s sent out notice on social media Wednesday night, warning of a potentially dangerous individual on the loose.  

The post says that the Moody County Sheriff’s Office was assisting Sioux Falls Police, the Minnehaha County Sheriff, and the Highway Patrol, in locating a subject who is currently on Parole and has Absconded. He was last seen around 5:30pm, Wednesday, in a vehicle that was found wrecked and abandoned near 238th St and 468th Avenue south of Colman. 

He is believed to be dangerous and may have a weapon with him. As of the last update,  his whereabouts are unknown. 

Residents in the area were encouraged to lock all vehicles and out buildings, and call 911 if they see anything unusual. The public is encouraged to not engage this individual. He is described as a Native American male with head, and neck tattoos.  Last seen wearing a camouflage sweatshirt. 

The Madison Police Department and Lake County Sheriff’s Office have also assisted in the search.
