Dakota State University has named Dr. Daniel Spencer as the next director of the General Beadle Honors Program.
The General Beadle Honors program at Dakota State was developed to challenge students to think independently and imaginatively, while nurturing intellectual curiosity and preparing students for rewarding jobs.
Spencer has a strong background in the humanities, having studied English, classical civilizations, music history, literary theory, and philosophy. He was also an honors student during his freshman year experience at Ohio University.
As he transitions to the role of director, Spencer says, he looks forward to continuing the strong first-year cohort and writing-intensive structure.
He hopes to expand collaboration with faculty and strengthen mentorship and research opportunities.
Spencer will be replacing current General Beadle Honors Program Director, Dr. Kurt
Kemper.
