This 4th of July marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the declaration of independence. The state of South Dakota has created a committee, called “Americas 250 SD” to coordinate state wide events. 

Julie Breu with the Lake County Museum is a member of that committee, and spoke with the Madison City Commission during their meeting on Monday. 

Breu says many communities are holding events.

The Commission approved a resolution, recognizing and approving of Madison as an official America’s 250th SD Community.
