The man charged with killing Moody County sheriff’s deputy Ken Prorok will be back in court today for a motions hearing.
Joseph Hoek is alleged to have intentionally swerved to run over Prorok while Hoek was being pursued by law enforcement.
Prorok was putting spike strips across a highway in an attempt to end the chase.
Hoek’s motions hearing starts at 10 a.m. today at the Moody County Courthouse in Flandreau.
Attorney General Marty Jackley has said he will seek the death penalty if a jury convicts Hoek of murder.
