The Madison Central School District Board of Education announced on Thursday that Dr. Abi Van Regenmorter has been selected to be the next superintendent of the Madison Central School District.

A graduate of Northwestern College, she holds a Master of Science in School Counseling from South Dakota State University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of South Dakota.

Van Regenmorter says she took an untraditional path to school administration.

She says the background gives her a unique perspective.

Van Regenmorter says a number of factors drew her and her family to Madison. 

Dr. Van Regenmorter and her husband Dave have three sons. Blake will graduate from DSU in May, Trace is a power lineman in Selby, and Coy is a junior in high school. 

Dr. Van Regenmorter will begin her new position with Madison Central on July 1st.
