First PREMIER Bank and PREMIER Bankcard, and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, have awarded the Interlakes Area United Way a $10,500 grant from the Member Impact Fund.

The grant money will help IAUW support programs and organizations focused on emergency services, housing stability, and opportunities for children in Lake, Miner and Moody counties. These are programs the IAUW says they have long identified as being critical to building a stronger, more resilient community.

Karen Giles, executive director of Interlakes Area United Way, says this kind of support directly strengthens our ability to respond to the needs right here at home.”

Floyd Rummel, First PREMIER Bank VP,  Market Leader in Madison, says that whether it’s an investment in a major project, sponsoring a local event, or volunteering our time, PREMIER is always looking for ways to make our communities even stronger.”

PREMIER provided a corporate donation along with applying for the FHLB Des Moines matching grant money. Recipients were selected based on funding needs for community programs like job training, affordable housing, financial literacy, food banks and youth activities.
