There will be no need for a city election this June. Three seats on the Madison city commission were open for this election cycle. Current commissioners Daniel Buresh, Jerae Wire, and Jenny Wolff all filed paperwork last month to seek the open seats.
This is the first election cycle for the city after the South Dakota legislature mandated that city and school district elections be held either during the primary or general election. When necessary, future City of Madison and Madison Central School District elections will be held during the June Primary election.
