Some upgrades will soon be coming to the Lake County 4-H grounds in Madison. During Tuesday’s county commission meeting a plan was approved to expand setting and shelter around the show ring at the 4-H grounds.
Ryan Kappenman spoke with commissioners and laid out the plan, which includes extending the pitched roof over the current grandstands. The addition would be 16 by 72 feet on both the north and south sides, and include the addition of a permanent announcer’s stand.
The total cost for the project is approximately 30-thousand dollars, and will be paid for by the Lake County Livestock Committee.
Kappenman said work should be completed before Achievement Days this summer.
Also Tuesday, the county commissioners approved an election agreement between the county and the ORR school district, and approved new compensation for members of the county weed board.
