Madison Varsity Bulldogs came up short in a pitcher’s duel Tuesday, falling 3-0 to the West Central Varsity Trojans. Both teams were sharp in the circle, but West Central capitalized on timely hitting to secure the win.
West Central broke through in the bottom of the third inning, stringing together three singles to score all three runs.
Kelsey Dudley took the loss for Madison after pitching three innings, allowing three runs — two earned — on four hits while striking out seven and walking one. Madison’s pitching staff kept the game within reach throughout the contest.
West Central’s Hoff earned the complete-game victory, surrendering just one hit over seven innings while striking out 10 and walking one.
Mara Klingbile accounted for Madison’s lone hit, finishing 1-for-3 at the plate.
Madison Varsity Bulldogs will return to action Thursday on the road against the Flandreau Fliers Varsity 2026.
