Treyse Eastman drew a bases-loaded walk with two out in the bottom of the 10th, to lift the Dell Rapids Mudcats to a 7-6 win over the Humboldt-Hartdford Wood Ducsk on Thursday night.
The Mudcats struck first in the bottom of the opening inning when Nolan Burchill delivered an RBI single.
Hartford/Humboldt answered in the third as Jesson blasted a home run to right to even the game at 2-2. Logan Larsen they lined a single that gave Hartford/Humboldt a 4-2 advantage in the 4th.
The Mudcats battled back in the fifth, with Jake Goble ripping a single down the left field line to tie the game at four.
Hartford/Humboldt regained the lead in the sixth when Drew Eldeen launched a two-run homer to right field, putting the Wood Ducks ahead 6-4.
The Mudcats responded again in the bottom of the eighth as Landon Ruesink doubled down the left field line, driving in the tying runs to make it 6-6. The Mudcats then drew three walks in the 10th to win it.
Goble finished the game with 2 runs and 2 RBI, and also threw 2 innings of scoreless relief.
The Mudcats improved to 2-0, while the Wood Ducks at now 1-1.
The Madison Dairy Queen Broncos fell behind 5-1 in the first inning, then scored at will in a 22-9 win over the Flandreau Blue Teal.
Madison’s Jordan Pederson had two hits, including a home run, and finished with 5 RBI and 4 runs scored. Logan Allbee also had a homer, and drove in 3. Heith Williams went 4-for-5 with 3 RBI.
Michael Witte had a 3-run home run for the Blue Teal, who scored 9 runs on 9 hits in the loss.
The Canova Gang scored in all but one inning of a 19-9, 8 inning win over the Baltic River Dogs.
Riley Genzlinger reached base 5 times and scored 4 runs for the Gang. Jared Miller drove in 4, while Kendall Gassman and Jackson Remmers each finished with 2 RBI.
Kooper Perry hit two home runs, and Jon Wilhelmsen one for the River Dawgs in the loss.
Dell Rapids PBR improved to 3-0 on Thursday with a 7-5 come-from-behind win over the Hartford-Humboldt Gamecocks.
The lead changed hands five times in the game, with PBR scored three runs in the 8th to take the lead for good.
Tad Tjaden drove in a pair of runs for PBR. Conner Spindler, Zach Puetz, and Lincoln Fersdahl each had two hits.
The Salem Cubs scored four runs in the first inning, then held on for a 7-6 win over the Flandreau Cardinals on Thursday.
Jon Forster and Cole Cheeseman each drove in a pair of runs for the Cubs in support of starter Aiden Scheetz, who gave up just one unearned run over 4 innings on the mound.
Jacob Patterson had 2 hits and scored twice for the Cardinals.
