It’s Election Day, and republican voters in Lake County have a number of local, and state races on today’s ballot.
In Lake County, Corey Johnke, Dustin Jung, and Tim Walburg are seeking the republican nomination for two seats on the county commission.
There are five candidates seeking the two nominations for District 8 House. Those candidates are Danny Brown, Todd Wilkinson, Jon Nelson, Samuel Krueger, and James Sapp.
Larry Rhoden, Jon Hansen, Dusty Johnson, and Toby Doeden are vying for the state-wide nomination for governor. Marty Jackley faces in the race for the US House, while Senator Mike Rounds faces a challenge from Justin McNeal.
At the school board level, there is a race for the Oldham/Ramona/Rutland School Board. Candidates Jennifer Lebahn and Ashlee Roling, are running for the Oldham-Ramona seat, and Mitchell Maher & Amber Malisch are running for a one-year term on the board representing the Rutland community.
Voters in Madison, Lakeview, Farmington, Leroy, Clarno, and Orland Townships will cast ballots in the Dakota Prairie Playhouse. The Chester, Franklin and Brant Lake polling place is the Chester Fire Hall. Wentworth and Rutland vote at the Wentworth Fire Hall. Nunda and Summit vote at the Nunda Fire Hall, while Ramona, Concord, Badus, and Wayne Township voters cast ballots at the Ramona Parish Hall.
Polls will be open until 7pm.
