The Lake County Commission has a full agenda for its Tuesday, July 7th meeting, with commissioners scheduled to consider a liquor license application, several highway improvement projects, development plats, and zoning matters.

One of the first action items will be a special on-sale liquor license application from Interstate House of Pancakes, doing business as Roll’n Pin Catering, for a wedding reception.

Highway projects will make up a significant portion of the agenda. Highway Office Manager Cara Barnhart is expected to present the proposed Highway 17 Rehabilitation Project and project budget. Commissioners will also consider awarding a bid for pavement striping on County Roads..

Emergency Management Director John Anderson will present an agreement for Lake County’s Federal Assistance to Local Governments award, to develop the county’s Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan.

Commissioners will also consider a county burial assistance application and appoint Micah Hofman to a three-year term as an alternate on the Board of Adjustment.

Zoning issues are also on the agenda. The commission will review an alleged zoning violation involving property in Johnson’s Subdivision and Kellog’s Addition.

The meeting will conclude with a discussion of Senate Bill 96. The bill allows individual counties to implement a local gross receipts tax of up to 0.5% on retail sales.
