The latest U.S. Department of Agriculture crop progress report shows the nation’s corn crop holding steady while soybean conditions slipped slightly during the past week.

The USDA rated 67% of the U.S. corn crop in good to excellent condition, unchanged from the previous week. Corn development continues to advance, with 16% of the crop now silking and 3% reaching the dough stage.

For soybeans, 64% of the crop is rated good to excellent, down one percentage point from last week. Development also continues to progress, with 34% of soybeans blooming and 9% setting pods.

The latest report follows another week of varied weather across many growing regions, including periods of extreme heat and flooding. Those conditions may have a greater impact on crop ratings in next week’s report as fields are reassessed.

Elsewhere in the report, the USDA said 59% of the nation’s winter wheat crop has been harvested, ahead of the five-year average, while 47% of the remaining crop is rated poor to very poor.

The spring wheat crop is rated 57% good to excellent, with 54% of the crop headed.

The USDA will continue issuing its weekly Crop Progress and Condition reports through the end of November as the 2026 growing season advances.
