Community leaders, developers and local residents are invited to celebrate the start of a major housing and economic development project later this month with a groundbreaking ceremony for The Summit at Van Eps.

The ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, at 1 p.m. at the building site, located at 108 S. Van Eps Avenue in Madison, adjacent to the ICAP Head Start Center.

The Summit at Van Eps is a Low-Income Housing Tax Credit development that will also include a commercial kitchen, creating both affordable housing opportunities and space for ICAP to expand.

The project is a partnership between Community Action Partnership and Lloyd Companies, organizations that say the development represents a significant investment in Madison’s future. Organizers describe the project as “a pivotal milestone” that will help strengthen the community by expanding housing options while encouraging economic growth.

Construction will take place near the ICAP facility, with the finished development expected to provide modern housing along with shared commercial kitchen space designed to benefit local businesses and community organizations.

The public is invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony and help celebrate the beginning of construction.

Event organizers say the project reflects a shared commitment to “building opportunity” and creating a brighter future for Madison through collaboration between nonprofit and private-sector partners.
