Kathy Molskness, age 72, of Appleton, WI, formerly of Madison, SD, passed away on June 26,2026 after a brief battle with cancer.
A celebration of life will be at 2 PM on Saturday, August 15 th at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Steve Lindley officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at Colman Lutheran Cemetery.

Kathryn L. Hegdahl was born August 25, 1953, in Madison, SD to Bertram “Bert” & Darlene (Kiner) Hegdahl. She grew up in Madison and graduated from Madison High School. Kathy married Rob Molskness on February 14, 1987 in Las Vegas, NV. They resided in Rapid City, SD, until 1995, when they moved to Bismarck, ND. They lived there for 15 years before relocating to Appleton, WI in 2010. Kathy worked in embroidery design and also spent several years working for an estate sale company. She loved to travel, which helped her a lot when her job required her to travel extensively for her work in embroidery design. Kathy also loved attending live music events, and she was a fan of classic rock, especially the Beatles. She also enjoyed walking, Volksmarching, and browsing for treasures at estate sales and antique malls.
Kathy is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years, Rob of Appleton, WI; son, Greg (Jenny) Darlow of Rapid City; 3 grandchildren, Kayne, Emma and Sophie; sister, Karen (Bob) Maxwell of Madison, SD; four brothers, Gary, Don, Brian all of Madison and Tom of Sioux Falls; and a Special aunt, Donna Erickson of Poulsvo, WA. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Darlene Hegdahl and brother, Steve.
