Over the next few weeks, schools around the area will be getting ready for the start of the new academic year.
For many parents in and around Madison, the Community Center’s After School Program is an essential part of the school year experience. For the last month, the City of Madison has been discussing the possibility of turning over the Summer and After school programs to EmBe Education.
EmBe CEO Karrie Teegen spoke with the commission in July, and said the EmBe after school programs try to spark curiosity, while offering a break from a traditional classroom day.
Should EmBe take over the program, it would still be hosted at the Community Center. Madison City Administrator Jameson Berreth says the sides are currently putting together a facility use agreement.
Any transition to EmBe would likely not happen until the new year at the earliest.
In the meantime, the Community Center is currently accepting applications for grades Jr. Kindergarten, through 6th. Applications can be found on the Community Center website, we’ll have a link to that under this story.
