Inter-Lakes Community Action Partnership hosted Delta Dental of South Dakota’s mobile dental truck August 10th through the 13th, bringing essential dental care to children and young adults in the area.

During the four-day visit, 50 patients ages 21 and younger received a total of $29,035 in dental services. Care included exams, cleanings, sealants, cavity fillings, crowns and other treatments.

The visit was made possible through a partnership between ICAP, Interlakes Area United Way and Delta Dental of South Dakota.

Interlakes Area United Way Executive Director Karen Giles says “A healthy community starts with access to basic healthcare. By sponsoring the Delta Dental Mobile Program, we’re helping remove barriers that prevent children from receiving the dental care they need to grow, learn and thrive.”

The Delta Dental Mobile Program brings dental services directly to underserved communities across South Dakota. Since 2004, Delta Dental’s two mobile dental trucks have visited 89 communities, providing more than $32 million in dental care to over 52,800 patients.

Interlakes Area United Way sponsors Delta Dental mobile visits in Madison and Flandreau as part of its commitment to improving access to healthcare services and building healthier communities.
