The Madison City Commission holds its regular meeting later today. 

On the agenda for city commissioners today is a discussion of a Land Lease Agreement and Electric Service Agreement with Simple Mining, LLC. Commissioners will also acknowledge the Community Center Facility Use Agreement with EmBe, and consider action to transition the After School and Summer Programs to EmBe. Also on the agenda is a public hearing and consideration of approval of an application for the transfer of the package off-sale liquor license from Lewis Drugs Incorporated to Sanford Medical Center. 

Madison City Commissioners today are also scheduled to hold a 2027 Budget Planning Session, which will include public comment related to the 2026 budget, along with a review of revenues, wages and benefits, capital projects, and all of the city’s departments. Before that, the city commission will hold first reading of an ordinance to amend the city’s budget appropriation for 2026, and consider resolutions for a contingency transfer and property tax levy for 2027. 

An executive session to prepare for contract negotiations or negotiating with employees will be held at the end of today’s meeting.
