The three men seeking seats on the Lake County Commission spoke Wednesday about goals and hopes for the county, during a candidate forum at Dakota State University.
All three candidates have previous experience in public office. Corey Johnke is a current member of the commission. Charlie Johnson previously served 8 years as a commissioner, while Tim Walburg is a former District Representative and Lake County Sheriff.
One of the questions asked of the candidates was, what are the biggest challenges facing the county? Johnke said the county is continuing to make strides in its budget process.
Charlie Johnson said roads are a major issue in Lake County.
Tim Walburg said there needs to be more communication between the commissioners and residents of the county.
