Joesphine A. “JoAnn” Arens, 90, of Menno passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Menno-Olivet Care Center in Menno.  Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 am on Friday, March 6, 2026 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Salem with viewing one hour prior to the service with family present to greet guests.  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Salem.

JoAnn Condran was born April 23, 1935 in Mitchell, SD to Stephen and Imogene (Adams) Condran.  On December 13, 1952 she married Walter Arens at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell.  

JoAnn had many hobbies including crafting, crocheting, painting on glass and many more.  She also enjoyed dancing.  Her favorite pastime, though, was bowling.  She bowled in many states and at many different tournaments including Nationals in Reno, NV.

JoAnn is survived by: her children, Richard W. Arens (Nancy Payton) of Sturgis, SD, Carol Raynolds of Martinez, CA, Debra Arens of Martinez, CA and Pam (Lueallen) Neuharth of Menno, SD; grandchildren, Chad Hornberger, Danielle Goodbar, Myricia Brown, Kelly Neuharth, Kim Forsberg and Joshua Neuharth; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-grandcats; sisters-in-law, Lucy Bowling and Shirley Olson-Kuehl and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, her parents, her infant son, Richard D., her grandchild, Dino Carlini; 4 sisters, Mary Lou, Marlene, Lois and Barbara, 3 sisters-in-law and 5 brothers-in-law.
