Last week, the Chester girls handed Colman-Egan their first basketball loss of the season. On Thursday, the Hawks got their revenge, as they eliminated the Flyers from the post-season, with a 49-32 win in the Region 3B semifinals. 

Colman-Egan raced out to a 22-11 lead, and outscored Chester in every quarter. The Hawks defense held Chester to just 23-percent shooting, including only 1-of-18 from the three point line. 

Jacy Wolf scored a game high 20 points for Chester in the loss. Katelyn Schut added 6 points, the rest of the team made just two baskets combined. 

For Colman-Egan, Brynlee Landis scored 19 points with 3 assists. Quinn Meyer added 13, and Jolie Flatten 11. The Hawks hit 20-of-45 shots as a team. 

Also last night in Region 3B, Ethan rallied in the 2nd half for a 43-36 win over Sanborn Central-Woonsocket. The Blackhawks held Ethan to only 6 points at halftime, and led 16-6. The Rustlers cut that down to one point at the end of the 3rd, and then doubled up Sanborn 18-9 over the 4th quarter for the win. 

Taziah Hawkins and Rachel Klock each had 13 for Ethan in the win. 

Colman-Egan will take on Warner next Thursday in the Class B SoDak 16.  Ethan will play Deubrook.

In Region 4A, Natalie Lueth and Ella DeKnikker each scored 11 points, and led McCook Central-Montrose to a 53-39 win over Hanson. Cami McGuire added 10 points and 7 rebounds for MCM. The Fighting Cougars will take on undefeated Mahpiya Luta (Mahk-fee-ah Lute-ah)  in the SoDak 16.
