All four Madison girls advanced out the first round on Thursday. Ella Coomes picked up a win by fall, and then a major decision in the quarterfinals, to advance to today’s semifinal at 100lbs. Jewel Vardsveen is also into the semis after a 12-1 major decision win in the quarterfinals. 

Gracie Lobbins and Devrah Meyer each won in the opening round, before taking losses in the quarters. They will each wrestle in Round 2 of the Consolation bracket today.

For the Bulldog boys, Caleb Hodges and Charles Aldana are into the semifinals. Aldana, who came is as the #13 seed at 113lbs, upset Kade Eimers of Tea with a win by fall in round 1. He followed that with a 24-8 Technical Fall win in the quarters over Isaac Weerheim of Brandon Valley. Aldana will take on #1 seed Kaden Haakinson of West Central in the semifinals today. 

Caleb Hodges won 21-6 in the opening round, and followed that up with a win by fall over Riley Dighton of Belle Fourche in the quarterfinals. Hodges, who made it to the Championship match last year, will take on Ridley Waldo of Aberdeen Central today in the semifinals. 

Wyatt Pickard, Sawyer Hegg, and Ashten Dorhout each won their opening round matches before taking losses in the quarterfinals. They each await their Consolation 2nd round opponents today. 

Alex Zwak, Brody Nielsen, Jade Wilkens, Levi Quam, Luke Johnson, and Nolan Wire will all wrestle in the Consolation 1st round this morning.
