Inter-Lakes Community Action Partnership Foundation has received a $17,500 grant from First Bank & Trust, and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines through the Member Impact Fund.

The grant is part of $12.9 million in funding awarded by the Federal Home Loan Bank, through a matching grant program designed to support affordable housing and community development across South Dakota.

ICAP supports low-income families and senior citizens, helping them move from poverty toward their maximum level of self-sufficiency. Through a variety of programs, the organization addresses essential needs across the region, including food access, early childhood education, and support services for vulnerable populations. One key service provided at ICAP’s Madison location is the preparation and distribution of frozen meals for seniors.

Mike Anderson, Chief Operating and Advancement Officer at ICAP, says the grant funding will allow them to increase capacity, improve efficiency, and ultimately serve more seniors and families.

The grant funding will support ICAP’s construction of a commercial kitchen designed to help the organization scale meal production and distribution. The kitchen will also support ICAP’s Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
