The man charged with killing Moody County sheriff’s deputy Ken Prorok will be back in court today for a motions hearing.

Joseph Hoek is alleged to have intentionally swerved to run over Prorok while Hoek was being pursued by law enforcement.

The judge is expected to rule on a defense motion for a continuance in the trial. The trial is currently scheduled to start Sept. 21st in Rapid City.

Today’s hearing starts at 10 a.m. in the Moody County Courthouse in Flandreau.
