Madison High School’s Flight 1 doubles team of Taiden Pierce and Ethan Sims have advanced to the semi finals of the Class A Boys State Tennis Tournament in Rapid City.

Pierce and Sims came into the tournament as the #2 seed, and received a buy into the quarterfinals, where they defeated Aberdeen Roncalli by the score of 10-4. Madison will take on Rapid City Christian in the semifinals this afternoon.

In Flight 2 doubles, Oliver Meyer and Maguire Studer lost in the first round to Spearfish. They then fell to Vermillion, 8-5 in the Consolation semi’s.

The Bulldogs Flight 3 doubles team of Tristan Castetter and Charles Meyer opened the tournament with a 10-0 win over Milbank, before falling to Sioux Falls Christian 10-3. The pair then lost to Rapid City Christian 8-1.

Singles play begins later today.
