The Lake County Commission has a full agenda for its Tuesday, July 21 meeting, with bridge improvements, zoning requests, and early budget discussions among the key items.

Commissioners will ratify a consumer fireworks permit and acknowledge the Auditor to Treasurer report and a raffle notice submitted by American Legion Prairie Riders Chapter 25.

At 9:20 a.m., Matthew Bunger with Banner and Associates will present the county’s 2026 bridge inspection report. Commissioners are also expected to consider resolutions supporting applications for Bridge Improvement Grants.

Buildings and Grounds Director Dave Hare will discuss landscaping improvements at the courthouse and public safety building, along with maintenance and replacement of automated external defibrillators..

Zoning Administrator Carrie Schiernbeck will ask commissioners to approve Micah Hofman as an alternate member of the Board of Adjustment for a three-year term.

The Board of Adjustment will also consider a setback variance request from Dakota Ethanol LLC in the agricultural district and review zoning violations involving properties in Herman Township.

The meeting will conclude with discussion of fiscal year 2027 budget requests as county officials continue preparing next year’s spending plan.

Tuesday’s meeting begins at 9am in the commission room of the Lake County Courthouse.
