The Vermillion boys and girls basketball teams cruised past Madison on Tuesday, sweeping the Bulldogs again this season

The Vermillion girls opened up a 12 point lead in the first quarter on their way to a 60-31 win over Madison. Vermillion sophomore Taylor Reuvers scored 29 points, including the 1,000 point of her young career. She added eight steals, seven rebounds and five assists in the win. 

The Bulldogs were led by Madison Rummel, who scored 17 of the Bulldogs 31 points. Aubri Tobkin added 6. The Bulldogs fell to 1-8, while Vermillion is now 5-3.

In the boys game, Madison jumped out to an early 5-0 advantage. The two teams traded the lead throughout the opening quarter, with the Tanagers up 16-12 at the end of the 1st. Then over the course of the next twelve minutes, Vermillion went on a 40-3 run, as they went on to win 68-33.

The Tanagers were led by Trey Hansen, who finished with 23 points. Luke Jenson added 15. Shane Veenhof had 8 points for the Bulldogs. 

Vermillion is now 6-2, while Madison fell to 5-2.

The Madison boys will host Flandreau on Thursday. The girls will travel to Flandreau on Friday.
