The Oldham-Ramona-Rutland School Board has set November 10 for another vote to decide whether or not to disband the school district.

During Wednesday night’s meeting, board members decided to conduct the special election themselves rather than hold it November 3 alongside Lake County’s general election.

Much of the public comment during this week’s board meeting focused on concerns over polling locations, voter access, fairness and election procedures.

One landowner said the proposed polling setup could force some voters to travel significant distances to cast their ballots.

Another speaker encouraged the board to seek specialized election-law advice and avoid issues that occurred during the previous election.

The board also faces a challenge in finding enough qualified poll workers. Members discussed the possibility of having up to three polling locations if they can recruit nine workers.

As of Wednesday night, the district had not yet secured enough poll workers to operate all three locations.

The previous dissolution vote in December of 2025, was left tied at 363 votes both for and against, with the tiebreaker coming from 4 provisional votes that were determined to be all against the recategorization of the district.
