Dakota State University has selected Carlos Cornay and his wife, Julie, as the 2026 Trojan Days Homecoming Parade marshals.

Carlos Cornay is a 1982 Dakota State graduate who came to the university from Hot Springs to play football. He was a quarterback for the Trojans and was part of the undefeated 1977 team that won its second straight conference championship.

Cornay earned a degree in physical education and health, with a minor in social psychology. After graduation, he coached at Dakota Wesleyan University and later taught and coached at Parkston High School before pursuing a career outside education.

Cornay has remained active with Dakota State athletics and alumni activities. Along with fellow alumni Tom Farrell and Mark Thomas, he helped establish the Trojan Monogram Club, which reconnects former athletes and activity participants with the university and supports current students through service projects and assistance during hardships.

Carlos and Julie Cornay have been married since 1981 and raised three sons. They now live in Sioux Falls and continue to attend Dakota State football games, tailgates and alumni events.

The 2026 Trojan Days Homecoming Parade is Saturday, October 10, beginning at 10 a.m.
