Dakota State University is celebrating Homecoming this week with its annual Trojan Days festivities, running through Saturday.

The week includes a variety of activities for students, alumni, faculty, staff and the Madison community.

Trojan Days traditions date back to 1922, when the celebration was known as Pioneer Day.

One of the highlights of this year’s Homecoming is Trojans Give Back, which takes place Thursday. Trojans Give Back is a day of service and giving, with students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends participating in community service projects and supporting current and future DSU students.

Thursday’s activities begin with Donuts for Donations at 7 a.m.

A Trojans Give Back food truck festival will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the Beacom PREMIER Complex Tailgate Zone, followed by service activities at 2 p.m. at Brian Kern Stadium. A virtual fundraising campaign will also continue throughout the day. The Trojans Give Back donation portal will remain open through October 15.

Homecoming activities continue Friday with alumni events, including an alumni and faculty picnic, the DSU Alumni Golf Tournament, the Trojans Together Social, an alumni baseball game and the Athletics Hall of Fame ceremony.

Saturday will feature the annual Homecoming Parade at 10 a.m. The parade will follow a new route this year because of construction along Egan Avenue, traveling from Washington Avenue to Sixth Street and then Egan Avenue before ending at the Depot.

The week concludes with the Homecoming football game Saturday afternoon. The Trojans host Dickinson State at 3 p.m. at Blankley Field.

Tailgating begins at 11:30 a.m.
