The Interlakes Area United Way has raised more than $22,000 through Madison’s DownTown in MadTown summer events since 2018, thanks to support from the Greater Madison Area Chamber of Commerce and the local community.
This summer, the events generated $3,470 for IAUW. That included a $2,000 donation from the Chamber and $1,470 in tips from eventgoers. The funds will be added to IAUW’s annual campaign to support local nonprofit programs and services.
Hosted by the Greater Madison Area Chamber of Commerce, DownTown in MadTown brings live music, food, drinks and family activities to Egan Avenue each summer. IAUW board members and volunteers from its Community Partners operate the beer garden during the events.
IAUW President Lori Gustaf thanked the Chamber and community members for their continued support, saying the funds help the organization support its partner agencies and strengthen local communities.
Community members can continue supporting the organization through its annual campaign, including workplace giving, one-time donations and the 15×15 Challenge.
Those who pledge at least $15 per month for 2027 or make a one-time donation of at least $180 by November 15 will be entered into a drawing for one of two $500 gift cards. The promotion is sponsored by East River Federal Credit Union.
